Online Tutor Quality Standards Policy

• Arrive online at least 5 minutes before each lesson.
• Dress professionally and teach from a quiet, well-lit environment.
• Maintain a reliable internet connection and suitable equipment.
• Display respect, patience and professionalism at all times.
• Maintain confidentiality of all student information.

2. Teaching Excellence

Tutors will:

• Deliver engaging, well-planned lessons.
• Teach according to the agreed curriculum and examination board.
• Set clear lesson objectives.
• Adapt teaching to each student's learning needs.
• Encourage independent thinking and confidence.
• Use appropriate online teaching tools and resources.

3. Student Progress

Tutors are expected to:

• Monitor academic progress continually.
• Provide constructive feedback.
• Set meaningful homework where appropriate.
• Identify learning gaps early.
• Inform Accelerate Tutors of any concerns affecting progress.

4. Communication

Tutors shall:

• Respond promptly to messages from Accelerate Tutors.
• Communicate professionally with parents.
• Never discuss fees or private arrangements with parents.
• Report cancellations immediately.
• Keep accurate attendance and lesson records.

5. Safeguarding

Tutors must:

• Teach only through approved online platforms.
• Never exchange personal contact details with students.
• Never communicate privately with minors outside authorised channels.
• Report any safeguarding concern immediately.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times.

6. Reliability

Tutors should maintain:

• Excellent punctuality.
• High lesson attendance.
• Professional preparation.
• Positive student relationships.
• Consistent teaching quality.

7. Continuous Professional Development

Tutors are encouraged to:

• Improve subject knowledge.
• Attend training provided by Accelerate Tutors.
• Keep abreast of curriculum changes.
• Share good teaching practice.

8. Code of Conduct

Accelerate Tutors has zero tolerance for:

• Discrimination
• Harassment
• Bullying
• Unprofessional language
• Academic dishonesty
• Breaches of safeguarding
• Repeated lateness or missed lessons without notice

Failure to comply may result in suspension or removal from the Accelerate Tutors register.
